OBITUARY

Born on the Twin Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on March 15, 1933, Vernon Bramble gave his life to the Lord at the age of 17. Soon thereafter he was called into the ministry. He served as Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Santa Cruz, Trinidad for many years. He migrated to the United States in the mid-1960s. In 1970, Vernon Bramble joined Bethel Bible Christian Church in Garden City Park, New York where he served as the Assistant Pastor. Six years later he was installed as the senior pastor. In 2015, he retired from ministry after faithfully serving and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ for nearly 60 years. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 30, 2024 at the age of 91. Pastor Bramble was a very active member of his community, greatly contributing to its overall spiritual growth and enrichment. He is preceded in death by his first wife Brenda, daughter Judith and second wife Gwendolyn. Pastor Bramble was a faithful husband, a loving father and a dedicated family man who raised his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. He is survived by his sons Glenroy and Eddison, daughter Ruthelen Bramble-Greene (husband Kevin Greene), grandchildren, Devin, Myles and Kendle (wife Olivia), Luci (mother of Myles), Bernice (mother of Devin and Kendle) two sisters, Cynthia Bramble and Myrtle Bramble-Elliott, one brother, Anson, a sister-in-law, Greta Tonge, one brother-in-law, Deryck Tonge and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was deeply loved and admired by all and will be truly missed

To the Bramble Family, I just wanted you to know what an indelible impression your father left on me as to what kind of man he was. He always had such a pleasant, peaceful smile on his countenance, that was contagious. He was a real man, and person who was caring -- genuine, and not fake. He was a strong confident man's man who displayed godly masculinity (like Jesus!), something we need more of in this day and age. REFLECTION


Personally, I can recall that I was about five years old when my sister (Brenda) and Pastor Vernon Bramble got married, the house where the reception took place is still standing. When I was around fifteen years old (in 1966/67, Rev. Vernon Bramble was the pastor of the Laventille Church of the Nazarene) I was sent to work with him as a trainee at the Mayers and Martin Garage where he worked as an Auto Body Repairman.
