Timothy A. Searvant
1957 - 2026

OBITUARY
DOD 10/02/2026
Tim “Boomer” Searvant passed away unexpectedly after a sudden illness. Through God's grace he was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his transition.
Born to Bill and Dottie Searvant, Tim grew up in Glendale with his three siblings: Billy, Rita and Mary. Tim attended St. Matthias Catholic School, Thomas Edison High School, and NYC Technical College. He obtained Associate Degrees in Mechanical Drafting and Architectural Drafting.
He rooted for the Islanders, Knicks, NY Football Giants, Buffalo Bills, Coney Island Cyclones and Long Island Ducks. Like any good Catholic kid he cheered on Notre Dame. But above all else Tim was an ardent and devoted Yankees fan.
Boomer was a hard hitting softball player. He had a powerful swing and could be relied on to “hit it out of the park,” or drive in runs by hitting a double or a triple play. The boom of his bat hitting the ball led to the nickname that decorates so many of his softball jackets from teams including Brau Haus, Smokin’ 86, and The Marlins. The crack of his bat was heard in a plethora of Queens parks over the years including PS 68, Farmers Oval, Russell Sage, Cunningham and Juniper Valley.
Tim worked as a draftsman for Century Film Projectors, Standard Motors, Ottavino Monuments, DeFrancese Machine Company, and Pall Corp., where he started out drafting but was encouraged to pursue work site safety. He ultimately became a licensed NYC Construction Site Safety Manager for Total Safety Consulting and retired from there after more than 20 years of service.
Since retiring, Tim spent much of his time at the Franklin Square Senior Center where he made many friends and became a fixture at weekly Tuesday poker games, Friday Bingo, and monthly birthday/anniversary parties. He was truly a social butterfly.
Tim was pre-deceased by his parents William and Dorothy Searvant, his stepfather Howie Meyer, his brother Billy, his loving in-laws George and Peggy Falabella, and his beloved polydactyl cat Daisy.
His loss is deeply mourned by Jeanne Falabella with whom he shared his life for over 40 years, his sisters Rita Cobian and Mary Marino, his brother-in-law Manuel Cobian, his nieces and nephews, and his many friends.
“I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.”
