OBITUARY
Thomas (Tommy, Tom) Griffin of Surfside Beach, SC formerly of New Hyde Park, NY passed away peacefully in his home on December 6, 2021 with his family by his side at the age of 80. Tommy was such a unquie man, some might say a legend, full of life and deeply loved his family. Beloved husband of Elizabeth, devoted father of Noel, Lisa, Michele and son in law John. Cherished grandfather (Poppi) of Trevor, Morgan Thomas and Hailey. Loving brother to Bridie, Mary, Mike, Lena, Patricia, late Francie. Rita, Josephine, Patrick and Paul. Tommy is also survived by his many adored nieces and nephews. Tommy will always be remembered for his passion and competitiveness for sports, football, hurling, the (KING) of Handball, Paddleball and Golf. Tommy had a single digit handicap in golf and was extremely proud of achieving 3 holes in one. Tommy never left anyone on the side, always rooting for the underdog. Having served his apprenticeship as a carpenter in Ireland, he brought his skills to the United States in 1963 and he continued in his profession until his retirement at age 55. Tom and his Beth enjoyed the rest of his life on many golf courses and passed the love of the game onto his children and grandchildren. He touched the lives of many young and old and will never be forgotten. He was AWESOME!!
