OBITUARY
Theresa Murphy passed away on June 17. She had just celebrated her 94th birthday with her family by her side. Theresa Murphy was born Theresa Marie Eichner in Jamaica, Queens in 1927. She was one of ten children and is survived by her younger brother Andrew.
In 1947 she married James Maguire. They were married for 23 years until his passing in 1970. They had five children: Peter (Joan), Michael (Diana), Jerry (Leslie), and Diane (Tony). Her son James pre-deceased her. They were devoted to their family, raising the children in Queens Village, NY. She was a loving grandmother to Erin, Eileen, Anthony, Michele, Nicholas and Lindsey. She also had six great grandchildren: Parker, Tyler, William, Chase, Caleigh and Liam, whom she adored.
In 1996 she wed Jack Murphy, and they were married for 22 years until his passing in 2018. Theresa welcomed his five daughters: Jackie (Al), Jeannette (Gary), Carol (Mike), Cindy (Peter) and Kathleen (Jack), and their children: Dana, Michelle, Travis, Scott, Patrick, Chris, Lindsay, Greg, and Jayna, along with many great grandchildren.
The Murphys spent their winters in Dunedin, FL, surrounded by dear friends. Their summers were spent in New Hyde Park with close family members. Theresa enjoyed emailing her many nieces and nephews throughout the years. She loved celebrating birthdays by sending greeting cards to all. Mom was thrilled each year on her birthday by the numerous cards she received in return.
In recent days, Mom was blessed with a wonderful caregiver, Neekita. We will never forget her support, kindnesses, and the loving care which she gave our mother. We are grateful for Theresa’s long and meaningful life, and for a woman who cherished her family and was a thoughtful, loyal friend to all. She will be missed more than words can say.

We are so sorry for your loss. Terry was a very important part of our community and we will miss her. From Her many friends here at Westwind Mobile Home Park in Dunedin Fl.
Aunt Terry was a great lady and she will be missed by many. She was one of my favorite people and I always enjoyed spending time with her.
My aunt Terri was my favorite of all my fathers siblings. I was so sorry she had suffered the loss of one of her twins & my sweet Uncle Mac so early in his life. It was wonderful to celebrate her marriage to Jack & see her happy again. My heart goes out to Diane, Peter, Mickey & Jerry. It's so hard to say goodbye to a such a loving mother.
Thank you, Aunt Terri for your warmth & kindness.
XOXO
ADRIENNE
