OBITUARY
TERESA JOHNSON
1951 - 2025
Teresa Marie Johnson (nee Sackman), 73, of New Hyde Park, NY passed away on January 26, 2025, after a brief and mighty battle with cancer. Terry was born on November 27, 1951, in the Bronx and settled shortly after in New Hyde Park for a happy and loving childhood. She is preceded in death by her parents; David and Teresa Sackman and in-laws; Ted and Catherine Johnson.
Terry was a proud product of Catholic school education as she often cited. She attended Holy Spirit grammar school, Dominican Commercial High School and St. John’s University. She achieved a successful 45+ year career in business as a lifelong learner and world traveler. Terry found her greatest fulfillment in the inspiration and mentorship she provided to others throughout her esteemed career.
Terry was a devoted mother to Kim Shaughnessy (nee Johnson) and Jamie Johnson, mother-in-law to Greg and Ken and loving Nana to Aidan and Keira. She was a devoted sister to David Jr. (Marilyn), Dan (Joyce, deceased) and Mike (Nancy) Sackman and blessed aunt to her nieces and nephews. Family get togethers for holidays and any occasion delighted Terry, quality time with family was priority. A great day was spent on the sidelines watching her grandchildren play sports. Terry especially enjoyed many memorable family vacations to Maine, Florida, Cape Cod and beyond. She was a proud New Yorker and loved rooting for her New York Yankees.
Terry found solace in her faith as a lifelong parishioner of Holy Spirit Parish in New Hyde Park where her funeral service will be held on February 7, 2025.

I want to send my Condolences to Terry's Family I am so sorry for the loss of your Sister,Sister in Law, Aunt.
Mrs Johnson was a lovely, courageous, hardworking and kindhearted woman.
People might say why did I so because I did not know her for long.
You do not have to spend a decade to know someone's character.
There is an adage in my country that says " character is like smoke". It cannot be covered up. No one can pretend to be what he is not for very long.
The little time I spent with Mrs Johnson i knew her to be genuine despite her illness
She trained all her children well, and she love people.
My heart goes to all her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers and all her relatives.
Pls do accept my sympathy.

My sincerest condolences to Terry's family. She was quick-witted, smart and honestly really funny. I worked with her for a great number of years and we even laughed about work the last time i saw her. She will be missed. My prayers are with her family.
Had the opportunity to work with Terry last 10 years. Always energetic and caring. No matter how tense the moment or issue at hand, she immediately disarm we with "how are you doing kiddo..". And she was a motherly figure for me to walk into her office and unwind on any issues you're dealing that day, and she always had sound advise. Terry's compassion to others and her unwavering Christian faith was admirable.
