OBITUARY

Mrs. Stella Maria Gauci, December 3, 1924 - October 24, 2020

In loving memory of Mrs. Stella Gauci, affectionately known as Mama Stella, beloved mother of Joseph, Mary, Carmen and Frank Gauci, and devoted widow of the late Francis X. Gauci. On Saturday night, October 24th, Stella peacefully passed away in her sleep at the age of 95. Stella and Francis immigrated by ship to America in 1952 from their native country of Malta, with Grandma Gaetana Gauci and their two children, Joseph & Mary. Carmen & Frank were later born in NY. Together Francis & Stella built a beautiful family life settling in New Hyde Park, NY, in 1964, where the family home is to this day. All these years, their Parrish has been Notre Dame Church, to whom Stella remained deeply devoted to. Mama Stella was dearly loved and cherished by family, friends, neighbors and all those who came to know her pure heart and loving kind spirit. Ever gracious, devoted, dedicated, hard-working, warm, generous, gentle and reserved, we remember and honor Mama Stella for the genuine selfless care she humbly offered to all alike. We will all miss her bright smile and affectionate loving presence.

Dear Joe, Carmen, Mary and Frank, I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Although it's been many years since we've seen each other, memories of family events and holidays spent at your Mother's house will always hold a special place in my heart, especially her amazing ziti. Her quiet strength and love will continue to inspire me. May she rest in peace and watch over you with the angels.

Upon hearing of Mamma Stella's passing, the presence of the Virgin Mary was palpable. Clearly the Great Mother lifted her devoted, star-lit daughter, into Her divine, eternal home. Peace and joy reign supreme. Prayers for all swirling in the firmament of love.

Dear Mary, Carmen, Joe and Frank...we are so very sorry for your loss. I'm sorry we didn't have the chance to get to know her better but from all the wonderful stories Mary has shared over the years I feel we got to know her generous and loving heart. I'm sorry we can't be with you but know you are in our thoughts and prayers. All our love, Joanne, Scott and Trish.

Dear Mary Joe Carmen and Frankie. There are no words to express how sad I feel hearing this news. She was our Auntie Stella. Always so loving patient and caring. When we were at your house it was like a vacation. Fun and games and always such a happy house. I will miss her loving ways terribly. She was an elegant beautiful soul. Love you Auntie Stella always. Mary Ann Vogel and family. 😢😢😢
