OBITUARY
Silvio (Sonny) Bellotti, 83, of New Hyde Park, died June 15, 2023, at Parker Jewish Rehabilitation Hospice. He died of complications from Pancreatic Cancer.
He was born on November 28, 1939, to Alessandro and Adele Bellotti in Brooklyn, New York.
Marrying Florence (Echer) Bellotti in 1976, they made a home together in New Hyde Park until her untimely death in 2004. Sonny remained in that home they made together.
He worked as a draftsman and engineer and retired from North American Phillips. While employed he received two patents, which he was most proud.
Sonny was a humble and funny, generous man who was loved by all who knew him.
Silvio loved to watch horse racing and golf; and liked to go to Atlantic City with his fellow seniors on bus trips. He also loved to go to his local bakery in the morning and get his large coffee and maybe a piece of pastry and talk with fellow retirees. After the bakery, he would make a stop at the local OTB to watch the races and see other friends. Sonny loved his Italian opera music, especially Nessun Dorma by Puccini.
Sonny is survived by his nephews Brian Roerden, Steven Roerden, Michael DeGasperi, Thomas DeGasperi and Mark DeGasperi along with his niece, Krista Obert-Thorn.

This is very late but I am so sorry to see that Sonny has passed away. Florence and my mother were distant cousins (their fathers were cousins). They were a wonderful couple and now they are together in heaven. May they rest in peace together. Sincerely, Mary Frunzi Rispoli (Gena and Gerard's daughter).
Sonny and I shared beautiful times in Atlantic City. We had great conversations over a few mudslides, amongst other things 😏 I'll never forget our time spent together
Sincerely,
That hot little number 💋
