OBITUARY
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of my mom, Rosemarie Lewinger (née Cangro). She passed away comfortably on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the age of 74.
Rosemarie was born on April 24, 1952 to Frank and Dora Cangro (née Moretti) in Brooklyn, NY. She married Joseph (Joey) Lewinger on May 5, 1974 and together they shared 49 wonderful years.
Rosemarie is predeceased by her son Joseph (March 28, 2020) and her husband Joey (May 22, 2023). She is survived by her daughter Denise Naftaly (née Lewinger), son-in-law Michael and daughter-in-law Maura. Rosemarie was a proud sister, niece, aunt and cousin to “her family”, often reminiscing about the good old times together. She leaves behind her greatest joys in life, her 5 grandchildren: Madison Lewinger, Jack Lewinger, Maeve Lewinger, Valentina Naftaly and Michaela Naftaly.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We continue to stand with you during this difficult time and offer you our deepest condolences.
I am so sorry to hear about Roe's passing. We were great friends back in the day, on 7th St. Quite a few years ago she tracked me down on FB, as I now live in Virginia. I remember her wonderful laugh and genuine good heart. I hope she has a fantastic reunion with all of the people she lost and loved. My sincerest condolences to all of her family and friends. May her memory be a blessing to all who loved her.
Rosemarie was a truly wonderful woman…kind, gentle and generous beyond belief. She would literally do anything for anyone any time. It was always a joy to be with her. I am sure she is in heaven, keeping an eye on everyone she loved…and that was everyone she knew.
Denise, your mom was one in a million. She made coming to work a happy day. She was smart, diligent and loyal.
Take care of yourself.
Margaret
I have known Ro my entire life. I watch her going back and forth down the block with juice can rollers in her hair and couldn’t wait to be a teenager. I remember her face, how happy she was the first time she brought Joe into my mom’s house. How she loved Joe. The pure Joy when she had Joseph. I would go to her home to babysit and she would say my son my son. All the holidays together. Rest in peace my my beautiful friend 💔❤️
