OBITUARY
In the early morning of September 6, 2021, our Mom, Rita M. Menak (Danowski) of Southbury Connecticut and New Hyde Park, New York, was reunited with the love of her life, Alphonse. Mom passed away peacefully with the love and support of her family by her side at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Mom was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 8, 1930 to Boleslaw and Mary Danowski. Mom and Dad were married on April 14, 1951, and spent 30 loving years together until Dad’s passing on March 18, 1981.
She was the loving mother of Robert (Bob) Menak, his wife Camille, and Linda Freed and her late husband Larry Freed. She also leaves behind her two grandsons Robert (Rob) Menak, his wife Anna, and Evan Menak. Rita was blessed with and able to enjoy three great-grandchildren, Rocco, Frankie and Lucille Rita. Mom also leaves behind her loving cat Libby and Linda’s boyfriend Michael Walewski.
Visitation will be held at New Hyde Park Funeral Home, 506 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park, New York on Thursday, September 9th from 2:00 to 4:30 and 7:00 to 9:30. A funeral mass will be Friday at St. Hedwig’s Church in Floral Park, New York, at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, New York.

I will always remember Rita's wonderful laugh and the wonderful times we share during the holidays! We had a wonderful time with Rita at Rob and Anna's wedding! Good times!!
