OBITUARY
Richard Gravina, 83, peacefully passed away on September 22, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children.
Richard was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His parents, Joseph and Emma Gravina preceded him in death. Richard and JoAnn "Jo-Babe” raised three loving daughters in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn. He and his family moved to Stewart Manor, Long Island in 2004.
Richard is survived by his wife, JoAnn of sixty years; his daughters, Danielle (Matt) Genova, Krisi (Frank) Anderson, and Amanda (Matt) Alfieri, and their six beautiful grandchildren: Jake Genova (26) (Chanelle, 25), Max Genova (23), Ryan Anderson (19), Hailey Anderson (16), Chase Alfieri (9), and Victoria Alfieri (6); as well as his younger sister, Susie DiFalco (John), and his niece, Andrea DiLillo (Stephen), Lukas (10), and Emma (4).
He found happiness in cooking, baking, gardening, collecting antiques, and pulling off a good prank! His love of music filled the home, especially Broadway show tunes that brought him back to treasured memories. His heart was as big as his smile, and even the simplest joys were always “the best”. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends, where laughter and warmth were shared by all.

Although it hurts my heart that you're gone, I will cherish the memories we had forever. You were the funniest, happiest person I know, and I am so grateful to have had you around for my childhood. I will especially remember all the time we spent together these past couple of years—every time I plant a flower I'll think of you. I love and miss you so much.

I just want to thank you for showing me what it means to be a great father and a great husband over these past 25 years.
You met every challenge with a smile on your face and a "whatever it takes" attitude.
In all the years that I've known you, I never heard you deny a family member's request, no matter what was asked of you. Without hesitation, you would say, "Not a problem." or "Ok, sure." You always put your family first, above all else.
I'm so grateful that Ryan and Hailey got to know both the loving and crazy sides…
My heart is filled with great sadness... I cherish the memories of time well spent with endless laughter. A devoted friend and "brother" to Jerry ... a beautiful soul filled with compassion and love for family and friends. May you rest in peace amongst the angels . Nadine
