OBITUARY
In Loving Memory of Noreen Williams
August 8, 1956 – July 22, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of Noreen Williams on July 22, 2025. A devoted wife, extraordinary mother, beloved sister, proud grandmother, and loyal friend, Noreen lived a life filled with quiet strength, boundless compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Born on August 8, 1956, in Queens, New York, Noreen later moved with her family to Albertson, where she was raised alongside her three brothers—James, Kevin, and Patrick Connolly. She graduated from Mineola High School, where her warm heart, sharp mind, and tireless determination first began to shine.
In 1979, in her early twenties, Noreen met Jerry Williams at a local Long Island bar. What began as a chance encounter blossomed into a deep and lifelong love. Together they built a beautiful life, grounded in laughter, support, and a shared devotion to their son, Joe.
Noreen’s love for her family knew no bounds. A fiercely dedicated mother, she made countless sacrifices to ensure her son had the very best. She often held two full-time jobs to afford Joe a private school education, never hesitating to put his future above her own comfort. Her strength and perseverance were awe-inspiring.
Professionally, Noreen was a standout in the world of sales. Her career began at a high-tech startup and continued through a successful tenure at Arthur Andersen. She ultimately found her greatest professional fulfillment at Wolters Kluwer CCH, where she was consistently the top-selling account manager for legal practice software and research tools. Her clients included some of the most prestigious law firms in the world. Noreen commuted from Franklin Square into Manhattan each day, always going the extra mile to serve her clients with integrity, empathy, and unmatched professionalism.
Outside of work, Noreen was a force of energy and resilience. A trailblazer in personal fitness before it was trendy, she frequented the gym several times a week and was known for confidently lifting free weights on the squat rack—often heavier than many men. She was also an avid runner, often spotted jogging at sunrise through the Garden City golf courses. Her passion led her to many races, including a spontaneous 5K in Memphis, Tennessee, during a college visit to her son—where she proudly captured first place in her age group.
Noreen also had a deep love of music. Irish ballads held a special place in her heart—especially Danny Boy, which always brought a tear to her eye. She brought magic to the holiday season, enthusiastically playing Christmas music as early as October and filling her home with joy and warmth. A loyal supporter of Fordham’s WFUV radio, she often discovered new artists through their playlists and filled her iPod with songs to accompany her workouts and daily life.
Noreen will be remembered for her grace, grit, and unwavering generosity. She was the heart of her family—the steady hand, the quiet champion, and the warm embrace in both triumph and trial.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Williams; her cherished son, Joe (Laura) Williams; and her first grandson, Joseph Gerard Williams III, born two months to the day before her passing. She is also survived by her beloved brothers: Jim (Patty) Connolly, Kevin (Elaine) Connolly, and Pat (Linda) Connolly; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and colleagues whose lives were made brighter by her presence.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Noreen’s life will be held at the New Hyde Park FH 506 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park NY on Monday July 28th, 2025 from 2-4PM & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Church Tuesday July 29th, 2025 at 10AM. Inurnment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Noreen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), a cause close to the hearts of those who loved her.
Though Noreen may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing, and her legacy of love and strength endure for generations to come.
