I had the honor and pleasure of working with Mike in the MTN Detective Squad. Standup guy and a devoted family man. Mike was always the same, upbeat and always kept it light. I was fortunate enough to take a ride to the Bronx with him to search for a subject, somehow we had enough time to divert to one of Mike Jr.’s baseball games. Young Mike would get on 1B, big Mike would be coaching from the stands.
“Michael, take second!!” Circumventing the coach - obviously!
Young Mike swiped a couple of bags that night. So many other stories to tell. Love ya brotha! Til’ we meet again.
Big Mike was one of a kind. A genuine person who cared about those around him and knew how to have fun. I will miss him getting at Mike and all of his friends (yes that was my lipstick on the champagne glass). We should strive to be more like him and to live life with meaning and to enjoy the short time we all have. Rest in peace.
Words cannot express the heartfelt feeling of a dear friend and colleague gone at such a young age. We first meet in the 90's when I represented the department I was with at a officer funeral in NY. We were both a lot younger then and he bought our team a drink. Skip forward to 2006 and we were the first two US employees for a Canadian business, Absolute Software. We had a blast together teaching, drinking and traveling. I will always miss his smile and his jokes. My prayers are with the family forever. He is standing tall at heavens gate as our guardian angel. God Bless my friend!
My heart goes out to all Mike left behind as he goes on to the next big thing. Heart and mind are what come to me when I think of Mike. Sharp intelligence, wit, and humor. Big heart. We got to work together for most of 5 years. I experienced and witnessed how he always had time for people and was discerning, creative, and thoughtful in all his interactions. He leaves the world in a better place, and I'm sad he had to leave so early.
