We are so saddened to hear about May's passing. Our deepest condolences to the family.
It is with deep sadness in learning of the passing of May Mahr. I remember her well. Her friendship with my mother was very sweet and touching. I accompanied/guided my mom each Monday by subway during the summer months when the laundry was closed to meet May to go shopping ....in Macy's Herald Square. May was always smartly dressed and pretty. I am grateful to May for guiding my mom through the dress pattern and material process from which my mom sewed not only dresses for herself but for my sister and I as well. Thank you.
Thinking of you all, Gene, Patty and Wally during this difficult time. Rest in peace May.

May was my a patient in my care for many years. From day one she and I had a special relationship that needed no words. She took better care of me most days than I did of her. A smile or laugh from her told me all was good in the world. Her ability to be social and express opinions amazed me. I could never hide from her my real emotions because she always just knew. She taught me a new perspective on life that I'll never forget. Watching the love her family showed her and coming to learn her story only made me love her more. Rest east now May.
Mary and I are deeply sorry to hear the sad news of May Mahr's passing from this world. She lived a long and rewarding life ever since she first arrived from China by ship with her late husband and step son. That was almost 75 years ago, and my own mom and dad were on the same ship with their first-born son - all looking to begin a new chapter of their life in America. Now, after a long illness, May Mahr is at peace.
Gone but not forgotten, May Mahr's memories continue to live on among us who remain. She was a good wife to her husband, and a fine mother to all her children. I'll always remember her…
