OBITUARY
Matias Flores, 79, of Long Island, New York, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 22, 1946, in Anamorós, El Salvador, Matias brought warmth, laughter, and a deep love of nature wherever he went.
Matias is survived by his beloved wife, Delmy Flores; his daughters, Cristina, Jessica, and Sarah Flores; and his cherished son-in-law, Ryan. He is also remembered by his brothers, Andres, Jose, Santiago, and Victorino, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures—tending to his garden, shaping beautiful landscapes, watching his favorite fútbol matches, and sharing countless jokes with those lucky enough to know him. His sense of humor was infectious, and his presence could light up a room.
Matias also had a soft spot for animals, especially his cherished cats Gingy, Peppa, and Lucky, and the beloved family dog, DJ, who all brought him great comfort and companionship.
He leaves behind not only a legacy of laughter and love but also the rich soil of gardens he planted and nurtured, both literal and metaphorical, in the lives of those who knew him.
Matias will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, we invite you to spend time in your garden, share a laugh, or simply sit quietly in nature - things he loved most.
