Linda and I have been friends since third grade so I have many good memories of Mary and their family throughout the years. Mary always welcomed me into their home to visit and if I was still there around dinner time would invite me to stay and enjoy some of her Austrian specialties. She allowed us many sleepovers as well, despite the inconvenience those must have been. As the rare mother driver, we benefitted from her taking us to our various entertainments as well. After we grew up I didn't see her often but when we did meet she always greeted me with the warmth I remembered. Even in her very advanced years Mary inspired me with her independence and…
Aunt Mary (Aunt Mitzi) One of the most interesting people we have ever met. Her life stories told a past that was filled with much happiness and some times of worry. We never questioned what she said because she always said what was on her mind and we never had to try to read anything into it. We thoroughly enjoyed her visits and will remember her always.
Great memories of our neighbor Mary. Mary had so many wonderful stories to tell and experiences to share. She was so funny, always a gracious host, cook and baker. Mary was sharp and never missed a beat. Loved her opinions and advice. Only spoke with her last month. God bless her and RIP.
She will be missed. Condolences and sympathy to the family.
Mary's family and my family met each other in 1959 when we kids went to St. Mary's school in Woodside. She was the only mother with a car, and on rainy days she would very kindly drive us all home from school. Her basement was a wonderful play area, and her entire house was always so nice and clean. Mary had the most beautiful Christmas tree in the neighborhood. She had so many activities and friends who loved her. Mary was a great lady who will be greatly missed.
Little did I know when meeting Linda, I was destined to meet her mother Mary who I found to be like no other.
We had this instinctual understanding and felt no judgement. I was always invited when her mom would visit and we would go out. She lived life out loud and yet was sensitive to others. There is only one Mary.
