OBITUARY
Marla (Micki) Eve Sands 73, passed away on May 9th 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. Born in Brooklyn NY June 27, 1946. She was the wife of the late Jonathan William Sands. The daughter of the late Irving and Beatrice Chadkin. The Sister of Sandra Mash and Mona Valore. Beloved mother to Kristopher & Melissa Sands. Loving grandmother to Skylar Grace Harnett. Beloved aunt to nieces Clarice and Meryl, and nephews Ronnie and Kenny. Micki leaves behind a legacy of Cooking, creativity, kindness and Love for her family. She was a dedicated member of her community in her younger years and always volunteered to help anyone in need. Micki will be dearly missed and was a blessing to all who knew her. A service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Aunt Micki,
You were always a larger than life figure in my childhood. Taking care of me whenever my parents were busy, fighting my battles as one of the few people who weren't afraid to stand up to others, making every holiday a special occasion not to be missed, and always willing to say what you were thinking. If I had to choose a word to describe you, it would be "intense". You were unapologetically you.
I took away so many positive things from you...unconditional love and support, willingness to stand up for myself and others, making the little pleasures of life matter. I also took so many wonderful memories of the lavish feasts you gifted from your heart to…

I met Micki when I was 5 years old..she was an amazing friend to me..we worked together for 7years and became ever so close..she had a heart of gold..Billy and Micki (late husband) made the most loving couple u have ever met..I miss you so much Micki..my heart broke the day I found out you passed..I loved you like a sister and we had this bond that no friendship can match..Rest In Peace my love and you can now at last be with your loving husband Billy!! Till we meet again...
Fond memories of snow days at your house. Always happy to see you, no matter how much time had passed, while you were gardening.
I knew Marla since elementary school and we reconnected when we had a JHS reunion. She was such a kind person With a heart of gold. I will treasure a gift she had made.. a statuette of Moses holding the 10 commandments tablets. I'm so sorry for your loss. May she Rest In Peace..😢😢
