OBITUARY

Maritza Pichardo

April 16, 1961 – May 28, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maritza Pichardo, on May 28, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, Maritza was the youngest child of Maria and Enrique Pichardo. At the age of seven, she immigrated to New York City, where she was raised and attended school. She built a life centered on faith, family, and love, touching the lives of many through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she cared for. She is survived by her beloved siblings, Radhamas Pichardo and Socorro Aguilera.

A devoted Catholic, Maritza was a loving mother to her six children: Venus, Sharon, Kathlyn, Mark, Matthew, and Joshua. She was also a beloved mother-in-law to Johnson and Joel and a proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and were among her greatest blessings.

Maritza enjoyed spending time with her family, vacationing, dancing, listening to típico music, and celebrating life’s special moments. She was the light and life of every gathering, bringing laughter, energy, and joy wherever she went. She loved to cook and spent countless hours preparing meals for her family, always making sure everyone was fed, cared for, and together. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people she loved.

Maritza will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all those whose lives she touched.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and comfort during this difficult time.

Our mother will be deeply missed, forever loved, and forever remembered by all who knew her.
