OBITUARY
Marilyn A. Bardolf, 92, of Queens Village, NY, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Basking Ridge, NJ on September 18, 2025. Marilyn was born to Eugenie O. (nee Scheedel) and John J. Bardolf in Queens, NY. She was a devoted aunt to six nieces and nephews and eight grandnieces and grandnephews. After completing high school, Marilyn began her career at the age of 18, working for Shell Oil in Manhattan. She was with them for 20 years until Shell moved to Houston. She then began working for the New York City Public School system, at Francis Lewis High School. While working, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting at Queens College.
Marilyn was an avid reader, traveler and photographer. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Great Neck. In her retirement, she took painting classes, and her work was featured in several shows held at the public library. She loved and owned many cats and dogs over the years, and they always brought her joy.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 92-96 220th Street, Queens Village, NY on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:45 AM.
Interment will follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY. She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Eugenie A. (Jean), Elaine, her brother, John T. (Jack), sister-in-law, Dolores and nephew, John A. Bardolf. She is survived by her nephews, Thomas Bardolf (Maureen), James Bardolf (Sherry), Jeffrey Keyt (Sherry), and nieces Leslie Keyt and Elizabeth Keyt Habibi (Babak). She was especially proud of her grandnieces and grandnephews Drew Wilkes, Mark Bardolf and Jenna Parent; Isabella, Julian and Olivia Brown, and Alexandra and Aidan Habibi. She will also be missed by a host of cousins and treasured lifelong friends. The family is suggesting that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northshore Animal League (https://www.animalleague.org) or the Bideawee Animal Shelter (https://www.bideawee.org/).
