OBITUARY
Margaret Fiedler, nee Reiter, of Bellerose, Queens, passed peacefully on November 14th, 2021. Margaret was born and raised in Ridgewood. Wife of the late WWII veteran Arthur Fiedler, and daughter of the last Heinrich and Margaretha Reiter (nee Krebs). Devoted mother of Steven Fiedler, Laura O’Gorman, and the late Robert Fiedler. Margaret is survived by Laura and her husband Bob, Steven and daughter-in-law Patricia Fiedler, and beloved grandchildren Brian, Nicole, Lauren and John, and great-grandson JJ, and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a graduate of PS 81 and Grover Cleveland High School. She was a life-long member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Ridgewood, keeping ties even after she moved out of the neighborhood. She married her grade school sweetheart, Artie, who was the love of her life. Together, they belonged to a close-knit circle of Ridgewood friends lovingly named the ”Hungerleiders”.
Marge’s passions were family and church. She taught us all what it meant to be caring, loving and to face adversity with a prayer and a big smile. Being a liberated woman long before the women’s movement, Marge ran the Reiter Knitting Mill with her brother Henry, raised three children, actively participated on church committees, was a member of the PS 81 PTA and was a church organist and part-time German Ladies Choir Director. She was blessed with an ever-positive disposition, and she was endeared to all she met. Her wisdom, integrity and common sense have been an inspiration to all who have known her, and those lives have been enriched beyond measure.
Donations may be made in Margaret's memory to the VFW and the USO.

Beloved Next Door Neighbor Marge
You will be very missed by us. You always had a positive word to say and a smile on your face. You were a wonderful neighbor Dan's parents and then with Dan and I. May you be at peace and you will be missed by all. Thank you for being part of our lives.
The Santos Family
Marge, I hope you know how much you meant to me. You were a great neighbor and friend who turned into family. You were always there when I needed help and listened when I needed to complain. I hope that I helped make the last few years better for you. You will be deeply missed. Sleep sweet Marge.
We have known Mrs. Fiedler all our lives. She was a devoted friend of both our mothers and fathers. She was the organist at our wedding 48 years ago. We will always have wonderful memories of her. WE are sure that she will be welcomed home by her family and many friends in heaven and missed by all that knew her and she has left behind.
Aunt Margie, You we're a wonderful Aunt to me and I remember you were the first person I went to see when I passed my road test. May you Rest In Eternal Peace.
Aunt Margie. The Aunt I grew up with when visiting Reiter Knitting Mill. I loved coming to the Shop with my Dad and seeing Aunt Margie and the cousins. God blessed her with a long life and a wonderful family and how the time has come for her to rest in peace with her heavenly family. Love you, miss you always, Aunt Margie.
