OBITUARY

Laura A Schiffer

Our beloved sister Laura Ann has passed away. Laura lost her battle against Uterine cancer on Wednesday 3-11-26. Laura had spent the last eight weeks in NYU/Winthrop Hospital, Grandell Rehabilitation Center and finally Good Shepherd Hospice at Mercy Hospital.

Laura was 71 years old born 12-9-54 at Peck Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. 

Laura was a proud graduate of St. Jerome's Parish School, Catherine McCauley High School and attended Nassau Community College. Laura began her business life with Travelers Insurance Company, Dun & Bradstreet and a number of additional businesses before retiring from ARC. She worked in accounting, sales, management and logistics throughout her career.

Laura is survived by her longtime partner, Barry Toomey, her three siblings Jean, Michael and Robert, sister-in-laws Julie and Irene. Laura was a wonderful aunt to her four nieces and their spouses. She was a special kind of great aunt to two nephews and two nieces.

Laura leaves a legacy of kindness and sensitivity to all those she touched.
