OBITUARY

June Fairhurst Fay was taken to heaven May 10th 2020. Born to Alfred and Emily Fairhurst. Loving wife to Matthew Fay. Mother to Gregg Hensley and his wife Christine, Terry Hensley ( Deceased ) and his wife Vicki. Devoted Sister to Allen Fairhurst, Arlene and Richard Kister, Lynn Fairhurst and the late Sterling Howell. Loving Grandmother to Arielle Hensley, Ryan Hensley, and Eric Hensley. Devoted Aunt too many Nieces and nephews. Friend and Mentor too many. Retired from the MTA Long island Bus. An Active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Garden City Chapter. Founding member of the Garden City Bird Sanctuary. June cared for many pets and took in many cats and dogs that had no homes and gave them a wonderful life. She also had a passion for Ancestry as she got to the early 1600’s with her research. There will be a funeral mass at St. Anne's Church in Garden City and Entombment at Pinelawn National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local food bank or animal shelter.
