OBITUARY
Josefa Salinas, age 85, passed away on April 20, 2020, in Long Island, NY. She was born on March 19, 1935, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Florencio Ortiz and Catalina Acevedo. Josefa is survived by her husband Orlando Salinas of 47 years and her two children Robert and Yvonne Martinez. Raised in Puerto Rico, Josefa later moved to New York City in her teenage years to pursue her education. She lived and worked in the Bronx where she raised her two kids and later met her soulmate Orlando. Josefa and Orlando married on June 29, 1973. They traveled the country as a sales team with Stanley Home Products until they left the company to open a couture dress factory in Bronx, NY until she retired. Through her retirement, Josefa took care of her grandchildren, traveled with her husband, and enjoyed every moment of her life.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; Josefa’s legacy of laughter, joy, and love lives on in the priceless memories she leaves behind.

My lord I truly loved you like my own grandmother. There was never a dull moment whenever you were around. I remember being so excited to go and visit you so I can sit down and talk complete boberia with you while you called me Stephanie hahaha. Your smile and laugh was and will forever be infectious. Thank you for always welcoming me & being so amazing in every way a human could ever wish to be. I love you!
