Jerzy H. Bajno

1956 - 2022

OBITUARY

Jerzy Henryk Bajno, age 65, of Long Island, New York passed away on January 4, 2022. He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

A passionate race car driver, Jerzy competed in and organized numerous rally races all over the United States and in Poland. He shared his love for rally with everyone he met - inspiring others to join the sport. Along the way, he made countless friends and priceless memories that he shared through his love of storytelling.

Speaking of storytelling, boy did he love to talk. Jerzy could become friends with anyone he met, anywhere. He loved to talk about all different subjects ranging from science and philosophy to cars and computers. He was also an avid listener of music and appreciated all genres, but he could often be found listening to Queen and Deep Purple.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Bajno-Kaczor, his wife, Anna Bajno, his daughters, Jessica Bajno and Katherine (Ryan) Bajno-Atkinson, his brother, Wojciech (Alice) Bajno, his nephews and niece (Tim Bajno, Alexis Madej and Patrick Madej), and his sister-in-law, Barbara (Miroslaw) Madej.

A service will be held at New Hyde Park Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 7-9:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Safe in Austin Rescue Ranch, an organization that rescues, facilitates, adopts and fosters abused and neglected animals that provide healing and hope to trauma, at-risk, and special needs people (www.safeinaustin.org). Jerzy’s heart extended towards animals in need. He will be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum.
