James G. Snow

1956 - 2024

OBITUARY

James Gerard Snow, Jr. passed away on February 10th after a valiant battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 67 years old and lived in Princeton, New Jersey.

Known to most people as Jim and affectionately called Jamie by his family, he is remembered for his kindness, good nature, intelligence, sharp wit, and strong faith.

He was born on November 5, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York to the late James Gerard Snow and Joan McPadden Snow. He attended Regis High School, Fordham University (Class of 1978), NYU Law School, and Rutgers University.

He began his career as an attorney in the public sector, turned to nonprofit work, and later earned a master’s degree to become a librarian, a job that combined his passions for reading, sharing knowledge, and helping others.

In the 1990s he worked in the South Bronx to provide a safe haven and support for disadvantaged young men. After moving to Princeton, he became involved in charitable work to provide mentorship and intellectual formation to college students and others in the area. In these and countless other ways Jim always tried to enrich the lives of others, often going above and beyond the call of duty. In all that he did, he was driven by his devotion to God and the Catholic faith.

He is survived and adored by his siblings Martin, Mary Catherine, and John, his brother-in-law Kevin, his sister-in-law Gail, nephews Raphael and Sergei, a large and loving extended family, and many close friends.
