I knew Helen since the mid-sixties, when she met and married Peter. In the early years, they also lived in Tower Gardens in the Bronx, and they were dear friends of parents Vera and Bill Myjer. For the Myjer siblings, they were always like an aunt and uncle. Present, kind, encouraging and providing an alternate perspective on life. Of course, we grew up and moved on, but I personally always fondly remember Helen and Peter visiting San Francisco with the kids in the mid-eighties, when I was stationed at the Presidio. They worried whether the kids would remember the trip and I reassured them that despite appearances, it would be a significant family memory. I hope I was right. …
Helen was a lovely neighbor. A sure lady with a kind heart. A woman who noticed the details and appreciated the beauty in everything. Curious, intelligent, interesting, appreciative, and loving. She moved with intention, attentiveness, and beauty. Thankful to have known a beautiful soul (and discover the most amazing homemade Albanian baklava)! Will miss her dearly <3
We will miss you! Thank you for putting up with our reunions at your home
