OBITUARY
Helen E. Babiarz of Coram, New York passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 at the age of 95.
Born on June 28, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, Helen was the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Julia (Witek) Babiarz. Growing up, she enjoyed walks in Prospect Park with her father, and trips to Coney Island with her sister, Genevieve.
Helen graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York in 1951 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. She spent over 40 years working in the design industry in Manhattan, New York, where her creative designs provided significant contributions to the world of modern fashion. A faithful parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Coram, New York, Helen touched the lives of many through her service as a eucharistic minister. Helen enjoyed traveling, particularly trips to Disney World with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stanislaw Babiarz, Julia (Witek) Babiarz, and sister Genevieve Stachniewicz. Helen is survived by her family, Diane Stachniewicz, Andrea Hall Stachniewicz, and Carolann Moran; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
