OBITUARY
Harry Conde, 66, of Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on October 18th, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS.
He is survived by his two daughters, Erynn Conde and Emily Conde; his six brothers - Francisco, Robert, Jose, Noberto, Peter, Jimmy, and his five sisters - Norma, Mildred, Yvette, Jackie, and Yvonne. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, with whom he is now joyfully reunited in heaven.
Born on December 16th, 1958, in Manhattan, New York Harry grew up in a large, close-knit Puerto Rican family that shaped his deep sense of loyalty, humor, and love for others. He graduated from William C. Bryant High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1977 to 1987 as a Combat Engineer 12B
During his decade of military service, Harry was stationed in many places all over the world. He also participated in humanitarian missions in Honduras and beyond. Rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant, he embodied the values of service, perseverance, and leadership; values that stayed with him for life.
After leaving the military, Harry returned to New York, where he began building a new chapter of his life. In the years that followed, he lived in Georgia, Alabama, Turkey, Japan, and Texas, before eventually returning once more to New York. Throughout his life, he worked as both a cable technician and in contracting, taking great pride in his work. Harry was a true handyman and he was always the first to offer his help to others.
But out of all his accomplishments, Harry was most proud of his two daughters, Erynn and Emily. He would speak of his daughters with love and gratitude. They were, without question, his greatest pride and joy.
Family was at the center of Harry’s life. He was always there for the people he loved, ready to help, to listen, or to make everyone laugh when they needed it most. Known for his goofy humor, big heart, and generosity, Harry left an impression on everyone he met.
In 2022, Harry was diagnosed with ALS, a battle he faced with extraordinary courage and determination. The illness, recognized as a service connected condition, is reminder of the lasting sacrifices made in service to his country. Over the next three years, he persevered through every challenge with the same resilience and strength that defined his life. He explored holistic treatments and sought out every possible way to fight the disease, holding on to hope and strength until the very end. Even in the hardest moments, Harry remained a fighter - strong in spirit, grounded in faith, and driven by the love he held for his family.
The world feels quieter without him, but his presence remains, woven into the laughter, memories, and love that continue to fill the hearts of those he touched.
