OBITUARY
Harry Baierlein was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He left this world peacefully in his sleep on June 20th, 2023.
Harry was born in Brooklyn on April 26, 1929. He met his wife Frances while they were both employed at the Dry Dock Savings Bank where he worked for sixteen years. Their love for each other was truly something special. They recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Harry continued his banking career at The Brooklyn Savings Bank which became The Crossland Savings bank. His successful banking career spanned forty-four years and retired as First Senior Vice President.
Harry enjoyed bowling and golf and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was also an avid platelet donor at the Long Island Blood Bank.
While in high school, he played baseball at Ebbets Field - not with the Dodgers, but on his high school varsity team. After the Dodgers left NY, his love for baseball continued with the Mets, and he and Fran spent many afternoons watching games in person, on the radio or on TV. They even have a brick with their names on it at Citi Field.
Harry and Fran were blessed with four children, John (Teresa), Barbara (Frank), Deborah (James - predeceased, Roy) and Kenneth (Jennifer). He was predeceased by his brother John (Gerry).
He was loved dearly by his grandchildren Michael, Daniele, Tara, Matthew, Kristen, Kelly, Steven, Anne, Kristen, Aimee, Alex and Jessica. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.
Friends and family will remember Harry for his quick wit, sense of humor, and his love and dedication to his family.

Should have said Jackie. It evaded me at that time.
Harry... knowing you just about all my life living just 2 doors away & 1/2 the time hanging out at your house with Barbara, I know you will be missed by many. You were a great neighbor & good friend to my parents for so many years. I am sure they were waiting to greet you in Heaven for cocktail hour as you all enjoyed doing so often together. My prayers & thoughts go out to the entire Baierlein Family on the loss of such a great man.
I have so many fond memories of the Baierlein family having grown up down the street from them in GCP. After 67 years and counting I am still friends with Jack. Rest in peace Mr. Baierlein and rest assured that you have left a wonderful legacy and family. I express my sincere condolences.
It is with a heavy heart to say goodbye to my best friend Harry. My wife Valerie and I had spent many good times during the thirty five years of friendship.
I met Harry as a Brother Knight and my wife and I with Harry and Fran attended just about every council affair each year.
We joined the Senior Club the AARP club and went on many trips together. I really enjoyed our many many Golf outings not worrying about our scores but just for fun and excercise.
Until we meet again in heaven Rest In Peace
Uncle Harry- I will always remember the fun at NHP pool, the Wildwood Adventures and the Boardwalk, your great sense of humor and laugh, your very neat car, your strong cocktails that knocked mom into a coma and left dad without dinner, but most of all I will remember how you were always there for us when dad was sick and after he passed. You are so special and I know you are all celebrating in heaven Thank you for everything!
