OBITUARY
Guido Ruffini, beloved husband, father, and nonno, passed away on April 28, 2026, after 91 vibrant years.
Raised in Salle, Italy, during the turmoil of World War II, he shouldered the responsibilities of a man while very young. Though his early life was often filled with hardship, Guido persevered through hard work and dedication, building a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Anna, his daughter, Maria, and his son, Bruno.
When Guido met Anna, it was love at first sight. A true romantic, he wooed Anna by traveling several miles by foot to her home with a group of friends to serenade her. His charm worked, and they were soon wed.
Three months after Guido married Anna, he was called to serve in the Italian military, and returned home just eight days before the birth of his daughter, Maria. A few years later, he moved his family to Strasbourg, France, where his son, Bruno, was born. There, Guido worked as a bricklayer and crane operator. He loved sharing stories about being up in the sky maneuvering heavy materials. Later, they moved to Edmonton, Canada, to live closer to family, where he worked as a pipe fitter. Ultimately, Guido and his family settled in New York, where he worked as an assistant store manager at ConEdison, paving the way for two more generations to follow.
For as hard as Guido worked, he also found joy in life. As a young man, Guido played the clarinet with the Salle town band, touring neighboring towns and performing during the feast of his beloved Beato Roberto da Salle. Guido shared his love of music and dance with his family and was always prepared with a cassette tape of Italian music in his car stereo.
Guido loved a celebration and never missed a chance to get on the dance floor or be the life of the party. He was the happiest when gathering with friends and family with good food and homemade vino.
In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, winning bowling trophies, playing bocce, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He was incredibly proud of the family he built, and he made sure we all knew it.
Guido leaves behind a family that will forever miss his enthusiasm and love, including his beloved wife of 70 years, Anna; his daughter, Maria (Pasquale), and son, Bruno (Carmela); grandchildren, Angela (Joseph), Cristina (Nickolas), Michael, Thomas, and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Alexa, Olivia, and Miles. Though we will miss him greatly, we find solace in knowing that Guido will be reunited with his beloved grandson, Daniel.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Guido was a wonderful man that will be missed dearly. Let the wonderful memories of him be in your hearts forever.
Guido was my first cousin and LOVED him dearly. I have sweet memories of him and Anna watching our young daughter Caitlin as a child Anna taught her how to sew and cook. I remember staying at their home a few days and they made us feel so comfortable and Guido always showed my husband Howie his wine cellar in the basement. 🍷❤️. We ONLY have wonderful memories of him He will be truly missed and I know he is in heaven. We love and will miss you so much. RIP ❤️And I remember him always laughing and watching The Three Stooges so I bought him a few DVD’S. I will always TREASURE that.
