OBITUARY
Gerald Robert Podlesak, Esq., died suddenly at his home in New Hyde Park on Saturday, June 20, after a long illness. He was 68 years old. Jerry spent his career in government service, mostly for the Nassau County Attorney’s Office. He is survived by his wife Cassandra Lems, his brother Thomas Podlesak and sister-in-law Mary Catherine Podlesak, and their four children. He is also mourned by his cousins Anne-Marie Ely, Michael Ely, Mary Beth Ely, Robert Ely, Martin Cass III, and Virginia (Cass) Young. Jerry was also very much beloved by his wife’s sisters and their children. Visitation at the New Hyde Park Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass at Notre Dame R.C. Church, New Hyde Park, NY on Friday, June 26 at 10:45 AM. Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Donations in Jerry’s name may be sent to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’ s Research or American Cancer Society
