OBITUARY
Francis (Francie, Frank) Griffin of New Hyde Park passed away peacefully in his home on January 2, 2021 with his family by his side at the age of 78. Francie was an extraordinary man who deeply loved his family. Beloved husband of Margaret of 50 years. Devoted father of Kieran (Sandra) and Jennifer (Craig). Cherished grandfather of Mackenzie, Declan, Riley, Liam, Eamon, Aisling and late Griffin. Loving brother to Bridie, Mary, Mike, Lena, Patricia, Tommy, Rita, Josephine, Patrick and Paul. Francie is also survived by his many adored nieces and nephews. Frank will always be remembered by his family and friends for his most genuine love of life and family. Francis wanted to know everyone’s story, making each person feel special and loved. Francie was a true friend to so many people. Known for his master carpentry skills, his deft set dancing steps, and his love for any music session, Francis was a true Irishman. His greatest joy was enjoying his grandchildren. Whether on the field, next to the court, or in the auditorium, Frank never missed any opportunity to watch and cheer his grandkids. In the end no man was more devoted to his wife than Francis was to his Margaret. VISITATION

Condolences to Margaret and the whole Griffin family. Frank was really terrific with promoting set-dancing and ceilis and the musicians that play for them. I was just talking with Seadga Coyle and reminiscing about the Mineola ceilis and he told me he was teaching Frank to play the accordion. I had a special connection with Frank as he worked with my dad at LIJ in late-80s (Eddie Fee RIP) and I knew some of the characters and circumstances of that period. I'll remember him at every ceili. So glad to have met him, wish we had more time.
Sincere sympathy to the Griffin family at this sad time. Francie was a great friend and many a laugh was had with him. He will always be in our prayers. Eileen (Stack) and the Finn Family. Doonbeg ireland.
