OBITUARY

Edward J. Roethel, age 96 passed away on March 14, 2022 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Rockville Centre, NY.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Glendale, NY, Ed served in the U. S. Army during WWII, joined the NYPD and retired at the rank of Lieutenant. He was married for 50 years to his loving wife, Norma, who predeceased him. He was an affectionate and caring family man who was loved by his brother Robbie, his daughter Teresa (Roethel) Kondracki, her husband Frank Kondracki, and her late husband Sam Harris. He was a dear father to his daughter Donna (Roethel) Freundlich, her husband Gary Freundlich, his son, John, and his wife, Donna Roethel. He was a loving grandfather to Glenn Harris, his wife Jeanne, Michelle Harris, Ryan, Scott and Julie Roethel. He was cherished by his great¬-grandchildren Kyleigh, Maci and Michael Harris. Ed loved spending time with his many family and friends.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Smile Train or Parkinson’s Foundation in his memory would be appreciated.
