To know "Mac" was to know someone who was always caring and sweet. No matter how he was feeling, or what he was going through he always had a kind word , compliment or always wanted to know how you were doing. He was always so appreciative of visits and let you know it. I started as his companion and we became friends. He was wise, always shared his unique way of looking at things and gave such great insight. We were lucky enough to share in so many adventures together and I have so many great memories of him that will last forever. Thank you for being you I was so lucky to have known you. I will miss…
A true gentleman and an outstanding artist.
His work was a combination of pure emotion, wisdom, memories and poetry.
He was always willing to share his experiences and knowledge with wonderful stories and lessons on scrapes of magazine clippings and hand written notes. I cherish my collection of "Notes From Don"
Donalds kindness, positive energy and laughter made our lives better.
Rest in peace my beautiful friend

Don was a very special man.
We have painted art work together for a long time.
He was very kind , pleasant and with a good sense of humor.
My family and I had the fortune to enjoy his company ay our holiday gatherings.
My children & grand children have great memories of Don.
All of us have deep words of condolence for Kathy and the rest of the family.
We know he is in the hands of God.
We 'll never forget him
Mary , Gus & family
Don was such a welcoming, sweet and gentle person, all my memories of him are good ones. I liked to sit next to him, watch him slowly wave his brush, he would whisper to me "don't listen to them, they talk too much." Like we were all kids in class. He wanted us to concentrate on painting.
We would sit behind Jane and look at her painting and yell in unison "stop!" Since a painter never knows when to stop.
He would always have background stories to go with his work. Some were thought-provoking and humorous.
I am grateful to have been able to share part of his life and I can keep these warm memories for the rest of…
It's impossible to summarize the life of Don Maguire in a few short words. The stories being told about him now, in these mere hours since his passing, reveal snippets of the essence of a man whose kindness, compassion, generosity, and love were showered liberally on all of us who were privileged know him and be loved by him. His twinkling Irish eyes, that ready smile, and the joyful greetings will be memories eternal. Painter, Golfer, Helmsman, Caregiver, Dad, Grandpa, Friend...Don is pure GIFT wrapped in human skin...I know he will help me heal the grief I feel with his passing...
