OBITUARY
Anna Marie Mombach, age 97, on November 9, 2021. Devoted wife of the late John. Beloved mother of Carol A. Klein, Theresa A. Mombach, and John G. Mombach, Jr. Cherished grandmother of 6, and great grandmother of 1. Anna married John in 1948. She raised 3 successful children, 2 Teachers and an Architect. .Anna loved to exercise her mind with daily crossword and word search puzzles, enjoyed daily Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune game shows. She had a special skill for creative writing, perfectly phrased letters to friends, greeting card sayings, and short stories. When you had a question about punctuation, she was there to help all of the time. She was an excellent typist. Went to secretarial school. Her career was raising the children and making a house a home. She loved their yearly New Years Eve parties for family, neighbors, and friends. In their younger days, they would enjoy conversing and feasting the night away with their guests until the clock struck 12 midnight. She played a violin as a child, and took ballet. She was a member of the Notre Dame Rosary Altar Society as acting secretary. She was a member for years. Loved her home in New Hyde Park, moved into the house in 1960 after a major snow storm. They loved regular visits up to Stony Creek in the Adirondacks, where they owned a second home. They loved country living. Anna had many, many, illnesses during her lifetime and survived them all except this one. She passed away at the age of 97, was about to turn 98 in 3 months. She endured all of the pain and suffering with each of the illnesses. She used to love to babysit her grandchildren and watch them as they learned to experience life over the years. Anna was always there to help with whatever you needed. Towards the end, she was bedridden and regretted she couldn’t walk any longer and experience life as she once did. Her mind began to fade. She would call out to her beloved Johnny, her husband. But now at last they will be together again.
