Ann Marie Gianni

1941 - 2024

OBITUARY

Ann Marie Gianni was the matriarch of the Gianni family. Daughter to Charles and Elizabeth Mistretta, Ann was the answer to her parents’ prayers after her mother suffered many miscarriages. Ann was born in 1941 and raised in Woodside, Queens where she met her husband, Hugo Gianni, when she was 17 years old. From a young age, Ann loved children. She grew up playing with dolls with her best friend Regina “Jeannie” and enjoyed babysitting her friends’ and neighbors’ children. At the age of 19 Ann gave birth to her first child. Ann and Hugo went on to have an additional three children, which Ann often reminisced about raising them being the happiest time in her life. Ann and Hugo created a beautiful life together with countless memories with their four children in their Woodside residence.

Ann and Hugo moved to Floral Park, Queens in 1985, where their family expanded and Ann along with her husband Hugo, participated immensely in spending time and helping to raise their grandchildren together. Among other things, Ann enjoyed cooking, drinking tea, gardening, dancing in her kitchen, shopping, watching movies, sitting outside in her folding chair talking to her neighbors, and most of all spending quality time with her close-knit family.

Ann passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Loving wife to Hugo, devoted mother to her four children, Salvatore, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Christopher. Mother-in-law to Bruce, Corinne, Cathy, and Gina. Beloved grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Anthony, Nicole, Loren, Kristen, and Samantha, and her four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Mateo, and Hailey.

The Gianni family asks that you keep Ann and her family in your thoughts and prayers and keep her memory alive by sharing happy memories of the devoted wife, mother, mother-in law, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor that she was, and always will be.
