It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Adan Melara, who departed this life on September 19, 2026.
Born in El Salvador on March 5, 1963, Adan later made his home in New York, where he built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and devotion to his family and friends. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Maria Teresa and Adan Melara, whose guidance and values helped shape the remarkable man he became.
Adan was the beloved son of Zoila and Salvador, and a cherished brother to Jorge and Lissette. Family was at the center of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved.
He was a devoted husband to Maria Luisa, and together they built a family filled with love, respect, and enduring memories. Adan leaves behind his loving daughter, Jenny, his son, Richard, and the greatest joy of his later years, his beloved granddaughter, Jailene, who was truly the apple of his eye.
In 1990, Adan joined CBS, where he faithfully served for more than 35 years. Throughout his career, he carried out his responsibilities with extraordinary kindness, dedication, humility, and pride. His care for the CBS family was unmatched, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him was fortunate to experience his friendship, generosity, and grace.
Adan was the person so many turned to for guidance, support, and encouragement. He embodied the very best of CBS culture and values and was, above all, a terrific friend. His dependability, quiet strength, and unwavering integrity made him someone who was deeply admired, trusted, and loved by all who knew him.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, Adan's legacy of love, compassion, hard work, and selflessness will continue to live on through his family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched.
He will be remembered always, missed deeply, and loved forever.

Sin duda un hombre noble con un gran corazón, te admiraba siempre porque nunca mostraste rencor, enojo o malas intenciones a pesar de que algunas personas si lo hicieron contigo y eso te caracterizaba, un ser humano que profesaba sus buenas obras y estoy segura que Dios te concederá el descanso eterno en su reino. Te abrazo y te llevaré siempre en mi corazón primo, gracias por los momentos compartidos.

Melara was a wonderful man. Whenever there were issues at 325 Hudson, he was always there to help resolve them. He was always kind to me and treated everyone with respect. He was truly a man of class and will be greatly missed. Mis condolencias a su familia 🙏🏽
