7/18/1939 - 11/5/2019  OBITUARY 

On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, Raymond J. McCleary, Jr., beloved husband of 60 years, father of five, grandfather of 13, and great-grandfather of 4, passed away at the age of 80 after a long journey battling Alzheimer's. Ray was born on July 18, 1939, in Middle Village, NY. He was a proud member of the US Marine Corps. Reserves, and member of Local 28 Sheet Metal Workers. A kind and generous man, who enjoyed his summers with his family in Breezy Point, NY, cherishing his walks on the beach with his wife. Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Ann, father, Raymond, Sr., and his sister, Pat. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Wynn), five children, Coleen Lane (Robert), Raymond McCleary (Theresa), Patricia Bishop, Timothy McCleary (Juli), and Diane Moran (Thomas) and grandchildren, Kevin, Christine, Kerry, Jacquelyn, Brenden, Michelle, Brianna, Matthew, Ryan, Brogan, Tommy, Trevor, and Maggie, his great-grandchildren, Ava, Kiera, Madelyn, and Patrick, and his sisters, Lorraine Seger, Maureen Sawey, and Arlene Crowley, and brother, Mike McCleary. One of my favorite memories as a kid was tagging along with the McClearys at Breezy Point. Mr. McCleary was always so kind and welcoming, he made everyone feel so loved. An unforgettable man and one hell of a family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

It broke my heart when I heard the news. A flood of memories came crashing through. Too long away from you all. I will miss Mr. McCleary and my wishes to the family. RIP Mr McCleary.
