March 13, 1942 - May 7, 2018 OBITUARY It is with great sadness in their hearts that the family Edward T. Minogue, 76, of Brewster, NY, announces his passing on May 7, 2018. Edward passed away at the Regional Hospice facility in Danbury, CT., surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born on March 13, 1942 to the late Edward T. and Ellen Fitzgerald Minogue of Manhattan, NY. On October 9, 1965 he married the love of his life, Barbara Haughney, and they were blessed with three daughters - Barbara, Marie and Linda. Before he retired in 1990, Edward was a decorated officer of New York’s finest NYPD, having a long-standing career of public service. He earned the honor of becoming a Captain of the Police Department and was both admired and respected by all who knew and had the privilege of working beside him. Along with working for the NYPD, Mr. Minogue was a Pipe Major in the NYPD Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. After his law enforcement career, he became a Sr. Vice President of Met Life. Although Edward dedicated most of his life to the police department and the community of New York City, making it a safer place for everyone, it was his family he lived for. He was an extremely admired and decorated officer, but he was just as equally respected and decorated in his home life. He was a loving husband, proud father, and adored grandfather and was fondly called GPA. Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Barbara, his three loving daughters; Barbara and son-in-law Patrick McGee, Marie and son-in-law Lee Rosenkrantz, and Linda and son-in-law Jim Coughlan, his six cherished grandchildren Meghan, Patrick, Grace, Aidan, Tyler and Dylan, all of whom he adored. Each child held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his two beloved siblings, Ellen Minogue and Richard Minogue. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of devotion will live on in the hearts of all. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm and Friday, May 11, 2018 from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Cargain Funeral Homes Inc., 10 Fowler Ave., Carmel, NY 10512, www.cargainfuneralhomes.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. am at Our Lady of The Lake Church, Carmel, NY. Following the Mass Edward will be brought to his final resting place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
