Lawrence B. Freed

June 1, 1949 - February 23, 2018 OBITUARY SOUTHBURY - Lawrence B. Freed, 68, husband of Linda M. Freed (Menak), passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2018 in Waterbury Hospital with Linda and his loving family at his side. Larry was born on June 1, 1949 in Manhattan to the late Charles and Doris Freed and grew up on Long Island. Larry and Linda married on May 4,1991 on Long Island and moved to Connecticut in 1996. Prior to retiring due to illness, Larry was employed by IBM in Southbury. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his mother-in-law, Rita Menak, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Camille Menak, his nephews Robert (Anna) and Evan, and his great-nephew, Rocco. The family would like to thank Dr. Fitzhugh Pannill, Dr. Victor Chang, Waterbury Hospital and River Glen Health Care Center of Southbury for providing Larry with exceptional care and support throughout his lengthy illness. The family would also like to thank Larry's dear friend Dr. David Dressler for many years of compassion and understanding. Visitation at the New Hyde Park FH 506 Lakeville Road New Hyde Park, NY 11040 Tuesday 2-4:30pm & 7-9:30pm. Funeral Service Tuesday 8pm at the funeral home. Funeral Wednesday 10am, interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry's name may be made to Whiskers Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 367, Southbury, CT 06488.
