OBITUARY On February 22, 2018, Gertrude Carter passed away peacefully and was welcomed home by her beloved son, Frankie, husband Frank, her parents Stanley and Alice Rozycki and seven brothers and sisters. Gert is survived by her sister, Irene Dolasky, and many nieces, nephews and friends who were blessed by her graceful and kind presence for over ninety-six years. Born in Garden City Park, Gert contributed her gifts of organization, humor and wit to the large, bustling and loving Polish Catholic home that was filled with laughter and song. She later worked at Doubleday publishers, in school cafeterias, and settled with her late husband and son in Westbury, New York. Gert will be remembered for her quiet strength, story-telling, and remarkable devotion to her son, Frankie. She taught us how to be a friend, how to live, and how to laugh and enjoy life even in the face of challenges. Above all, she taught us how to dance!
