April 20, 1933 - January 19, 2018 OBITUARY Rosemary Polla passed away January 19, 2018 at home in Garden City Park under the care of Hospice Care Network. Rosemary Polla was born April 20, 1933 in NYC, NY, the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph B. Perretti. She was united in marriage to Henry R. Polla on January 8, 1955 in Flushing, New York. They were happily married for 63 years. Rosemary (Pendy) was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She worked as a secretary for the Engineers Union Local 444 for many years. She enjoyed skiing and gatherings with family and friends in Roxbury, NY, well into her later years. Rosemary is survived by her husband; Henry, her four children; Laura (Thomas) Griest, of Orange, CT, Mark (Gloria), of Smithtown, NY, Jennifer, of Milford, CT, and Christopher (Steven Nayman), of Massapequa, NY; 4 loving grandchildren; Michael Griest, Kristen Griest, Daniel Polla and Dominic Sambataro; one sister; Corrine (Marco) Bonomi of Fair Haven, NJ, and one brother-in-law; Charles (Jill) Polla, of Blue Point, NY. The family will receive friends on January 21, 2018 at the New Hyde Park Funeral Home, 506 Lakeville Rd, New Hyde Park, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 22, 2018 at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 45 Mayfair Road, New Hyde Park, NY. Burial will be at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, NY, following the funeral service.
