OBITUARY Miriam B. Dorrian died peacefully at her home in Lynbrook, New York after a brief illness. She is survived by her 10 children: James (Sharon), Thomas, Mary Jane (Chris), Brian (Linda), Daniel, Joseph (Kathy), Gerard (Patricia), Grace (Ken), Sarah (James), and Raymond (Gail). In addition she leaves twenty four beloved grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas and daughter Ann. Miriam also served as the matriarch for many nieces and nephews. Miriam was born on April 9th 1924 in Corona, New York. She was the third of five children. She was a devout and faithful Catholic proven by a legendary story of Miriam walking in a blizzard to get to Sunday Mass. Always an excellent student, Miriam was the Valedictorian of her high school class. Prior to her marriage she worked as a secretary for Pan Am Airlines. She always said, however, that her best job was raising her children and she enjoyed every minute of it. In 1985 she and her husband retired to Madison, Ct and spent many happy years playing tennis, traveling and enjoying family and friends. Visitation at the New Hyde Park FH 506 Lakeville Rd. New Hyde Park Tues. 2-4pm & 7-9:30pm. Funeral Mass Wed. 10am St. Anne’s Church. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
