McBRIEN - Mary E. (nee Rooney) peacefully on July 28, 2016 at the age of 97. Mary was a resident of New Hyde Park, NY for 58 years and of Framingham, MA for the last 10 years. Dear daughter of the late John and Ellen (nee O'Dowd). Loving wife of the late Thomas F. McBrien. Beloved mother of M. Ellen (David) Courchene of Wayland, MA, William J. (Christine) McBrien of Philadelphia, PA and the late Thomas F (Jean Marie) McBrien of Juneau, AK. Dear sister of Nora Carroll and the late Catherine Munson, Theresa Steffek, Anne McGlynn and sister-in-law of the late Vincent McBrien. Cherished grandmother of Matt and Brien Courchene, Maggie and Keith McBrien, Thomas McBrien and Colleen McKenna. Adored great-grandmother of Benjamin and Alice Courchene, Christopher Courchene, Mary and Gretchen Zvejnieks, Connor and Caitlyn McBrien, Seamus and Erin McBrien. Devoted aunt of 22 nieces and nephews. Mary loved and was loved deeply by all of her family and friends. She will be in their hearts forever. Reposing Tuesday 5-8 pm at New Hyde Park Funeral Home, 506 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park, NY. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 9:30 am, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 16 South 6th Street, New Hyde Park, NY. Interment to follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood. Donations in Mary's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
