Ann Castiglione

September 2, 1922 - April 19, 2018

OBITUARY
ANN CASTIGLIONE, 95, received her angel wings on April 19, 2018. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Hoboken, NJ on September 2, 1922 and moved “across the river” to Queens, NY when she married the love of her life, Carl Castiglione, on February 1, 1948. After working side-by-side with Carl, they retired to Long Island where they enjoyed the many activities and friends that their new community offered.

Ann was a devout Catholic who spent time with the Lord every morning. She enjoyed serving and volunteered for the Long Island Blood Bank for 25+ years. Ann was an avid reader and an accomplished baker.

In 2000, Ann lost her husband to a heart attack, and in 2015 she moved to Savannah Square, making many new friends. She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Bob) Longueira and Patricia (Marty) McAleer, her grandchildren Bryan (Libby) McAleer, Faith (Shawn) Van Buren, and Megan (Steven) Grella, and three great grandchildren, Marlowe, Brooks and Nathaniel.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29th from 2pm-4:30pm & 7pm – 9:30pm at the New Hyde Park Funeral Home, 506 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park, NY. Funeral mass Monday, April 30th at 10:00 am at St Anne’s Church, Garden City. Interment following at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's name to Ozanam Hall.
